Stonehenge on the washing line

I think this Stonehenge made with clothes is so cool! And a great advertising poster, too.

Interior inspiration

{sorry folks, I don't quite know who owns this. If you do, don't hesitate to drop me an email!}

I think I have fallen head over heels in love with this interior. The colour palette is so calm and neutral, and the light that comes flooding in makes it a perfect bedroom, no? Imagine waking up every morning to all that light pouring through the windows in front of you...

I love the framed pictures on the wall, and the seating in the corner of the room - it's all so fresh.

Breakfasting

{Image via Southern Accents, design by Frank Babb Randolph, photo by Tria Giovan.}

Don't you just love this breakfast room? I think I love every one of it's features - the chandelier above the table, the tap fixture atop the island unit, the island unit itself, ...and the light. The main appeal of this room for me is the light - I would love to sit in it for breakfast with my family and have oodles of light pouring through beautiful french doors at either side of me. How marvelous!

A feature most elegant indeed

{photo via thingspiration}

Don't you just love this dressing table? It's so elegant, so romantic...

Focus, though, on the cake stand in the corner; a design feature that I have fallen in love with. It looks so natural on this (and perhaps every) dressing table - like it was meant to be part of the design.

My mother has a cake stand similar in design on her dressing table too that she inherited from my late grandmother (her mother-in-law) - and I've always loved it. It is a very sentimental and meaningful addition to the household indeed.

My mother houses jewellery on her cake stand, and every time I see it I am inspired. I think, perhaps, that using it for the latter purpose works better than it's intended use!

Earrings and rings with the odd brooch and ribbon on the top shelf, and your Chanel No. 5 on the bottom shelf, accompanied with various trinkets...

Beautiful.

"...it all fits into a little box..."

{image from ghosts at a tea party on tumblr}

To quote Bretodeau, from Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain:

"Life's funny. To a kid, time always drags. Suddenly you're fifty. All that's left of your childhood... fits in a little box."

A touch of inspiration

{photo via la douleur exquise on tumblr}

Wouldn't you love to be sitting here? Outside a quaint little café somewhere in a pretty dress, writing in your journal and watching the world pass you by...
